As I know there were many many people (quite literally all over the globe) thinking about me yesterday as I had my first radiation treatment, I thought I'd do a very quick pop-in today as well.

The biggest challenge of the afternoon yesterday was getting me on the the table. Prior, despite being told that the table "is really low", it was NOT at all low. Nowhere in the universe would this table be considered low. So the "mission almost impossible" became how to get me up on this thing.

They suggested my attendant could get me up there. My response was "Nnnno! That's a workers' comp claim waiting to happen! I CANNOT allow that!"

After what felt like hours, one of the seemingly 8 million people in the room finally said "Oh.... We have a hoyer lift.... somewhere." I looked at her and said: "Why didn't you say so before now???" After they searched for (and found) the hoyer lift, then we embarked on what almost began to feel like a S&M chamber show. "Wait. I think that strap goes over here." "No-no, that strap goes over there. The yellow strap goes here." "No. The purple one goes here." Wait! We should twist her the other way." "No, not that way. This way." Clearly they don't see many folks who can't climb up on the x-ray table.

By the time I wheeled into my building's lobby, I was spent five ways from Sunday; but as Tatenda and I entered, he saw my - always friend, (and sometimes staff) Natasha.
I looked at her, a little surprised. (She sometimes comes to my place to study and I told her she's welcome any time, even if I'm not home.) So, I asked: "Oh.... still studying?
Then she said the sweetest thing: "Oh. I finished studying around 3:30. I just wanted to be right here, when you got back. Right here!"
Wow! That just blew me away.
Until next time, with much love.
