Howdy good peoples! This is just a really short & sweet pop in to say hello.

After getting my 2024 staffs' T4s completed last week, I start my Radiation treatments this coming Monday, March 10th. It'll be 5 days a week, for at least 20 treatments. I've got my "tunes to be zapped by" playlist on my tablet and ready to go! Among my listens will be: Seph Schlueter, Brandon Lake, Fernando Ortega, Jars of Clay, Megan Woods, Toby Mac, Phil Wickham, Jeremy Camp, Robin Mark, Mac Powell, Casting Crowns and others, so I'm stoked and energized! I'm also going in with an army of well wishers & spiritual supporters - friends, associates, my church family. All who are helping me stay incredibly strong. I am so blessed, and grateful.

Another piece of news that's kind of significant, (for me anyway) is that I've recently been nominated to become an Elder at my church (Calvin Presbyterian Church, in Halifax.) For me, (whether I am actually elected or not) it truly is a real honour to even be considered and if I am elected, it is a role that I will take on most seriously, with humility, dignity, and honour.

I've been a member of Calvin since December 2001. It holds a Christian community that I love very much and love being a part of.

In the publication "Becoming An Elder in the Presbyterian Church (in Canada)" the role of an Elder is described as "An elder actively serves the congregation" and "An elder has gifts for leadership and ministry" .
From a scriptural point of view, in the early Christian church, the elders were the church leaders who met, thought and reasoned together with the apostles. Together they led and guided the church.

I'll try to pop into your inboxes again during my treatments, just to let you know how I'm doing.
Until next time, with much love.
