October's DEAM
- News from Gerianne
(#0012 / Oct. 14/24)
Last week was a busy week, but I want to touch base and share a few "haps".
First, I am both very excited and very honoured to announce that Darren Surette, of AbilityRadio.ca has invited me to be one his Contributing Editors/Writers. Darren is also another GO-3D Grad and has a deep passion for journalism and conveying stories that we can all relate to.
My next Kindle:

I had hoped to have my next Kindle on Amazon last week to mark our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, but as I said, it was a very busy week. So I now plan to have it available sometime this week - likely by the end of the week.

The DEAM and Other Event:

October has two important themes for me. One is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The other is DEAM - Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Last Thursday afternoon I attended this years DEAM event, in my current home city of Halifax. With a first rate fashion show by Fashion Designer, Marie Webb, Co-owner of Lemonade Stand Designs, and an empowering prestation on being one's authentic self, by guest speakers Bradley Daye and Matt Thomson, plus Junior Moaku, the afternoon was both enjoyable and motivating event.

In the evening, my staff and I attended Margo Wheaton's poetry event, at the Halifax Public Library. It was an inspiring evening, listening to prose by Annick MacAskill, Alexander MacLeod, Anna Quon, and of course, Margo herself.
My Grace Pals:

On Saturday, I had the immense joy of being with my former Grace College Alumni pals. It was the first time I've been able to physically be with them since the start of covid, and besides being misled by Halifax Transit's outdated website (which in turn meant me taking the wrong bus and getting off nowhere near my intended stop) and getting caught in yet another torrential downpour, it was an awesome day.
With today being our Canadian Thanksgiving, I'd like to thank all my readers for being so supportive of what I do. I am so incredibly blessed to have such avid readers! Thank you all so much. You guys are truly awesome!
